"She loved the smell of wet dirt the way others might love the smell of roses" Dawn Hewitt
Tim Candy
What engages me about working with ceramics is that the medium allows me to combine lifelong drawing, painting and wood carving experiences in exciting new ways. The primary goal of my work is very simply to have fun, by creating pieces that move me in some way, in hopes that some others may be attracted to them also. My proclivity for realistic representations of animals, especially fish, have caused some to call me "fish man". Land and seascapes, flowers, people and brief forays into the abstract are all welcome distractions. My work leans towards that of a ceramic artist rather than a production potter.
