"She loved the smell of wet dirt the way others might love the smell of roses" Dawn Hewitt

The process of throwing pots on the wheel is a meditation that help me to release stress and to be mindful. The most important lesson I learned from throwing pots is to be patient. Be patient when wedging the clay well to avoid bubbles so the clay will not throw you off when you try to pull it up evenly. Also be patient while centering the clay, guide the clay to center instead of forcing it. Through years of learning, practicing, and exploring in the clay world, I came to realize that I am drawn to the beautiful and smooth curve of the pottery. Style wise, I like to make pots that are simple with earthy and muted tones. I also enjoy making large pots because they challenge me to experiment with new techniques.
